Season 4 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is officially here, and the roadmap is packed with content for multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies. Here’s everything you need to know, with a focus on multiplayer but also touching on key updates across the board.
New Multiplayer Maps in Season 4
At launch:
Shutdown (6v6 Core) – A small, fast-paced map set in Iceland featuring water combat elements.
Fugitive (6v6 Core) – A medium-sized map based in a secret CIA black site, also in Iceland.
Blitz (Strike Map) – A tight, faceoff map designed for smaller teams.
Mid-season:
Eclipse (Strike Map) – A new map set in an underground Avalon nightclub.
Fringe (6v6 Core) – A remastered fan-favorite from Black Ops 3, featuring the same layout with new textures and aesthetics.
New Multiplayer Modes
Team Elimination – Launch mode. Think Kill Confirmed meets limited respawns with tag confirms and denials.
One in the Chamber – Returns mid-season.
Party Ops – A new in-season LTM featuring party-style mini-games where players compete for high scores.
New Scorestreak: Grim Reaper
Returning from past titles, the Grim Reaper is a quad-tube rocket launcher that can free fire or lock onto scorestreaks. It costs 725 score and may contribute to streak medals and nukes.
New Weapons in Season 4
At Launch:
LC10 (SMG) – High accuracy and range with moderate fire rate; returning from Cold War.
FFAR 1 (AR) – High fire rate with strong close-quarters damage, also from Cold War.
Mid-Season:
Essex Model 7 (Marksman Rifle) – Lever-action rifle from Black Ops 4, high damage but slow handling.
Olympia (Special) – Double-barrel shotgun as a secondary weapon, not in the shotgun class.
Pickaxe (Melee) – One-hit kill melee weapon.
New Weapon Mods
G-Grip (ARs/SMGs) – Vertical foregrip with integrated laser for hip-to-ADS stability.
Strider 22 Burst Mod – Converts it to a 3-round burst with improved fire rate.
SVD Full-Auto Mod – Transforms the sniper into full-auto (likely with damage tradeoff).
TR-2 CCUB Mod – Converts it into a full-auto SMG-style weapon with handgun ammo.
Events & Limited-Time Features
Ballerina Event (June 5–12) – A John Wick-themed event across MP, Zombies, and Warzone. Rewards include the Essex Model 7.
Rivals Event (June 12–26) – XP-based event featuring unlocks like the Grim Reaper and Strider 22 burst mod.
Zombies Highlight: Grief Mode Returns
Grief Mode is back in Zombies, letting two teams compete for survival. You can't kill each other directly, but you can sabotage and outlast them. This is a highly requested feature making its return mid-season.
Season 4 might not bring all-new weapons, but it’s heavily focused on fan-favorite returns and gameplay depth. From new Icelandic maps to unique weapon mods and experimental modes like Team Elimination, this season is shaping up to deliver fresh ways to play.
