As we make our way into the spring and summer months, the first details of Madden NFL 26 have emerged. While EA Sports didn’t mention the game by its official title, the publisher revealed that the next game in the series will release on Nintendo Switch 2.

Madden NFL 26 on Nintendo Switch 2

During Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct, the Japanese publisher revealed its brand new home console, which will be released on June 5, 2025. In addition to the console’s reveal, EA Sports also revealed that the Madden and EAFC series will be coming to Nintendo’s new home console.

Rematch Release Date Revealed

No details were given on the newest games from both of these series, but it’s great to hear that Madden will return to Nintendo after an 11-year hiatus.

This news may be new to some, but EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, has hinted at the possibility of EA Sports’ football series making a return to Nintendo’s consoles. “Any time a new console comes into the marketplace,” Wilson said, “That’s a benefit to us. It gives us the ability to access and acquire new players. Typically, we’ve had franchises perform very well on Nintendo platforms. Certainly, our expectation is that products like FC and Madden and others might find real energy on the platform as they have done in the past.”
